Following the results of the first half of the year 2010 Kirov Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant (an enterprise of UMMC’s semi-fabricating complex) provided significant increase of press-drawing production output.
“The major part of press production is represented by copper busbars, drawn rods, strips and profiles, - Vyacheslav Lozhkin, Deputy Technical Director and Head of Production Department Kirov Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant, said. – Today the plant produces more than 100 dimension types of copper busbars as well as wide range of structural and collector profiles with different configuration as pieces and coils made of bronze and copper”.
Thus production of busbars, strips, wires, profiles for the period from January to June of 2010 was increased in 2.6 times (up to 1,316 t) from the same period last year. Furthermore, production output of these types of products overlaps pre-crisis figures for the first half of the year 2008 by 7.9%.
Production of LS alloy rods in the first half of the year 2010 was 1,633 t, that is in 3.8 times more from the same period last year and it exceeds the level of January-June of 2008 by 51%.
According to Vyacheslav Lozhkin, this growth can be explained by accretion of demand for products of Kirov Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant as it was in success to satisfy customer requests as for quality and range as for supply volumes taking into account the market conditions. “State-of-art special equipment and own support base allow Kirov Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant to produce rolled products of any configuration, complexity meeting special customers requirements and accuracy limits at press production”, - he noted.
