Kirov non-ferrous metals processing plant implements a large-scale project aimed to improve the condition of the equipment and the reduction of the work.
According to the Deputy Chief Engineer on the development of the production Sergei Maryin, it is a part of the introduction of lean production. The project consists of several stages and is aimed to improve efficiency in the use of equipment by reducing non-productive time, downtime, system maintenance, in addition to repair services, production personnel.
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) – is the main instrument of lean production, which would make it possible to achieve the stated objectives. Pilot sites – hot rolling mill 850 and blanking-DUO Tandem-1000,-said Sergey Maryin.– Last fall, when the project was launched by employees from various parts of the plant for the operators of these mills were developed standards for equipment maintenance templates.
Standards, known as the technological instruction of USOF, lay down details of procedure for inspection and maintenance of mills with the designation criteria and periodicity of inspections. In addition, algorithms for calculating the overall efficiency of the equipment, which allow you to take into account the loss of time and metal have been developed".
The application of another instrument of lean production -"Quick changeover", aims to reduce the time for change – trans-shipment, rotation matrices, etc. Currently experience gained during the implementation of the TPM and Quick changeover, is recommended for distribution to new pieces of equipment
